Road Trip to Monterey + Big Sur | Pacific Coast Highway

Pismo Beach Adventuring

I've always loved what I do, but every once in a while I forget the WHY. Why do I do it? When I am reminded whenever I get an amazing client into the studio and reminded again when our client-business relationship turns into a friendship! Some of you might remember Ally's boudoir session. She's truly one of the most badass babes ever.

We quickly became friends + embarked on a series of adventures. We hiked, hung out with adorable cows, and most notably, we road tripped up the PCH to visit Big Sur!

We stopped along all the little quaint cities along the Pacific Coast Highway: Santa Barbara, Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, Cambria, San Simeon, Carmel and 17 Mile Drive in Monterey!

The first night we slept in the car somewhere in Monterey. I can't tell you where exactly, because we don't have any idea where. Some might call us shameless, but I like to say that we're just adventurous spirits. The second night we explored Big Sur & McWay Falls! I was determined to find first come, first serve camping, but no dice! If you're a stickler about these things be sure to reserve campsites ahead of time. We ended up just parking off to the side and making camp along a cliff. It may or may not be technically allowed...

On our way back, the car broke down just north of LA on the freeway. We were towed to a mechanic shop at 4 pm. They could do nothing for us, we haphazardly drove it the dealership. There was a mix up with paper work and left us in the lurch. It was a huge debacle and we ended up having to spend the night nearby. It's all laughable now, but it was quite a trip!
