Client Interview - Boudoir Experience - San Diego Outdoor Beach Boudoir

This force of nature, let's call her Miss Frizzle (yes, like the one from the cartoons!), came to me for her outdoor boudoir session. Though she was nervous, I'd say she powered through it and showed the world how strong women can be!

...and strong and powerful and empowered!

...and strong and powerful and empowered!

Describe yourself using only 5 words. fun, goofy, modest, adventurous, cautious

What prompted you to pull the trigger and schedule a boudoir session? I have always been uncomfortable with my body and rather critical, but when I saw Amanda's images from her photo shoot I was taken aback by how naturally beautiful they were. I was struck by images of an "everyday" woman and how they conveyed such beauty and power and thought - wow, that's how I want to feel. So I decided to contact you and really take the step to explore a session and attempt to embrace my own body.

How do you feel about your body & what do you love about your body? I have had a long standing love/hate relationship with my body. I'm not a small woman and have really struggled to feel feminine and sexy. I've always felt that my only assets were my butt, but have really struggled with other areas. I enjoy feeling strong and while I like my butt and boobs, what I really love most is my back.that I love my back the most

How did you feel about being (nearly) naked in front of the camera? I was really nervous at first and I tried really hard to not think about the camera during the shoot. Debra, you really have an amazing way of helping people to relax. I tried to focus on your voice and just following your instructions. Your constant encouragements and direction really helped me push through my fear.

Did you have any fears about your boudoir session?

YES! I was sooo nervous that somebody else would see since we were at the beach, but it ended up being amazing. I was also really scared about looking and/or feeling ridiculous.

What was your favorite part about the boudoir experience? My favorite part were all of the poses. I especially liked it when I got hit with the water or there was some other thing that made me laugh. Laughter is such a great way to relieve tension and it really was a lot of fun posing for different shots and angles.

How did you feel after seeing the images we created? Words cannot describe adequately how I felt after seeing the images. I decided to do the shoot in order to attempt to embrace my own body and have a healthier body image and the images we created did just that. I couldn't believe that they were of me. It was so strange looking at these amazing images and realizing that they were of me, that I could look that, that I do look like that.

Your best advice for women interested in their own boudoir session? DO IT! It is such an amazing experience and journey, especially with Debra there to guide you. It's crazy because you get to see yourself as she sees you through her lens, and she sees amazingly strong women who are unique and beautiful in their own right. You won't regret it!

Reflecting back to your shoot, what was the most important thing you can take away for your experience? This whole experience has really shown me that I am the women that I want to be. I am strong and beautiful and sexy. I had an amazing time.

How did you like working with Debra & her team? Debra and her team are amazing. They are there to support you every step of the way. They go out of their way to make things as comfortable as possible while also encouraging you to really step out and embrace the experience. I could not have chosen a more perfect team to embark on this experience with.  Both were just so awesome in helping me relax and feel comfortable with the situation. It was definitely way out of my comfort zone and you both really helped me enjoy the experience.
